The event born in the seventy years, for the tireless work, never forgot of papàs John Capparelli and other few friends, is yet again today to strengthen the "Vëllamja" (brotherhood) and the union of "arbëreshë" communities. A lot of communities "arbëreshë" of Calabria remember their traditions in both "Vallje", which usually take place on Tuesday after Easter, both in the Spring of Italian - Albanians, "which takes place each year in Santa Sofia of Epirus the second Sunday May, during the celebrations for the patron Saint Atanasio "the Great".
The CELEBRATION represents spring and a new life, the ancient custom of our fathers in the own land accustomed to meet each spring to strengthen the spirit of unity and brotherhood of a people that exile, has suffered oppression and defeats, but that had the ability to keep intact the attachment to their roots.
The originality of the event is demonstrated by the fact that is never equal to previous years or monotonous, because he knows innovate itself, giving those take part impressions always new ones. The inclusion of "foreigners" groups, which took place some years ago, had the means to share and to let know as much as possible an unquenchable cultural heritage and traditions.
